What SolveMyWords does
The site combines a word unscrambler, anagram solver, word finder, pattern and crossword helpers, Wordle-style filtering, Scrabble-style scoring, random word generation and browsable word lists.
The tools share one interface so visitors can move between different solving methods without relearning the website each time.
How results are produced
Word searches are generated from a local word database and server-side matching logic. Results can be filtered by length, starting letters, ending letters, contained letters, excluded letters, patterns and score.
Different games and dictionaries can disagree about whether a word is accepted. SolveMyWords should be treated as a solving aid, not as an official authority for a particular game or competition.
Quality and corrections
We aim to keep word data accurate and the interface dependable. If you spot an incorrect word, broken page, misleading description or technical issue, please use the contact form and include the page URL where possible.
Definitions and licensed dictionary data will only be published when the relevant source permits that use.
Privacy-first development
The core word-solving features do not require an account. Browser storage is used for requested preferences such as theme and consent choices. Optional analytics and advertising technologies should only be activated in line with the visitor choices and applicable law.
You can review the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy at any time from the footer.
Our approach to useful content
SolveMyWords is designed around a simple principle: the tool should answer the immediate word question first, while the surrounding page explains how and when to use that tool. We avoid hiding the solver behind long introductions or requiring an account before a visitor can search.
Our guides are written for SolveMyWords as practical references to letter patterns, anagrams, crosswords and word-game problem solving. Related guides and tools are linked together so visitors can move from an explanation to a working search.
Editorial and word-data policy
Tool descriptions and guides are reviewed for clarity and are intended to explain methods rather than promise that a particular dictionary or game will accept every result. When a statement depends on a specific game or external rule set, visitors should verify it with that source.
Word-list coverage can change as data is cleaned or expanded. Corrections can be reported through the contact form, and we distinguish general database matches from official game rulings or licensed dictionary definitions.
Word data source and scope
The current production word database is derived from the American-English wordlists generated by the English Speller Database (ESDB). SolveMyWords uses the broader en_US-large list for solver coverage and marks entries that also occur in the default en_US list as standard/core entries.
During import, entries are accepted only when the source form is already lowercase A-Z text between 2 and 15 letters. This intentionally removes capitalized proper names and acronyms, possessives, punctuation, hyphenated or open compounds, accented forms and entries outside the supported solver length. The active filtered database contains 126,492 entries.
The ESDB lists are general English spelling data, not an official Scrabble, tournament or puzzle-specific lexicon. The site’s standard/core marker is a dictionary-membership signal rather than a statistical measure of everyday word frequency, and game legality should be checked against the official source for the game being played.
